So
today is our first full day in Amsterdam and it is an absolutely gorgeous day
out. So we decided to go a
Museum-ing...
We figured why not, and have I mentioned that this town is made of cute!
It
did take some convincing to get me off the Houseboat because I mean, it’s a
house that’s a boat in Amsterdam!
After
sleeping on the boat we all had sea legs and were stumbling about a bit, or as
they in Amsterdam, you have a case of the “Amster-whams”, since you tend to
just bump into everything as you go.
But it's Museum O'Clock!
We
first headed to the Ruiks Museum, absolutely no idea what that means, I think
its Dutch for “big ass Museum”, because it was huge!
We
decided to do the 90 minute guided tour because let’s be honest, we probably
wont be able to pay attention for more than that, if we can even pay attention
that long.
So
we started the tour and of course we got lost. And we saw some nice pictures, like "Lady with a Milk Jug...
The
Museum was pretty interesting but after about 20 minutes all the paintings
started to look the same, so yep you guessed it, we started doing bits.
It didn't care for Jeff...
Next we grabbed a bite to eat because it was beautiful out...
Then headed over to the Van Gogh
Museum...
Again it was a very nice Museum
but we are dumb Americans and everything started to blend together here as
well.
We
all started to get sort of loopy by this point, but there was just something about the Van Gogh Museum, I felt such a connection to it, almost like we left a part of ourselves there...
But
I’ve gotta say, I thought Amsterdam was known for it’s canals, but it seems
like they have a freaking Museum for everything…
From
Tulips…To Houseboats...
To
Torture…
To
Sex…
How
far have we walked today? The Louvre is in Paris?
And
then there was this, Museum…
Of
Cheese, honestly, who needs a freaking cheese museum?
It
turns out Jeff did…
And
it is sort of my worst nightmare…
By
this point I am 100% Museum-ed out, or as they say in Amsterdam,
“Amster-damned”
All
I wanted to do was go back to our little Houseboat and hang out and enjoy the
beautiful sunny day, so that’s what we did.
Now
we are just going to relax and meet up later tonight with Kati, her girlfriend
Macarena and Asna’s cousin Mayannah. I’m
sure once we are all together, shenanigans will ensue.
