We managed to find a Hostel that would call us a taxi, which was right next to Jeff's new favorite Museum, the freaky tiny horse and mule museum...
Once we got to the airport, I was bored, and the boys went to to the Scandinavian Airlines lounge... because I will get to go with Asan to the Turkish Airlines lounge (which, shh, is WAY better).
Jeff tried to use the stairs, failed again and got yelled at by one of the airport people...
Anyway, we boarded the plane, and we were surrounded by randos on the plane. Turns out one wasn't so rando. He ended up being Amy Poehler's brother, Greg, who is in town shooting a new show called "Welcome to Sweden". We are idiots and missed it, soooo, there are no pictures of him, but take some interest people and Google him!
Once we got to Bergen, shocker it was freezing and raining!
After we wandered around confused for a bit we found our lovely flat and of course it was up 4 flights of stairs...
And of course I lost one glove...WHO LOSES JUST THE ONE GLOVE! Me apparently...
One we got settled we headed to town to figure out how to get up to Mt. Ulriken, which sits at the top of the mountain overlooking all of Bergen. We had dinner reservations and we had no clue how to get there...
When we found the information center, I asked if they found my glove...it turns out they hadn't (not very informative, if you ask me)...
Anyhoo, they did manage to tell us how to catch the bus there, we just had to get off at Llanfairpwllgwyngyllkopfshangshglangan station (or at least that is what it sounded like when the driver told us where to get off)
Luckily Jon had the brain today and managed to direct us to the right place and we were ready to go up. But I need to backtrack for a second to talk briefly about Jeff's paralyzing fear of heights...
I did a little research before hand and found out that the gondola ride up to the top of Mt. Ulriken runs close to the mountain. I told Jeff and he said he wanted to do it, as long as he took a bucket of Xanax before we went up the 1000 meters to get to the top of the mountain...
So he took his "happy pills" (as my Mom calls them when she flies, sorry Mom! Love youuuuu)
So once Jeff was good and, we will just use the word relaxed, but really it was this interesting mix of terror and narcotics...
And this is what we had to ride in all 3 billion meters up the mountain...
We started up the mountain and he was doing good, pretty mellow...
But then things got a little weird...maybe it was the combo of adrenaline and Jeff's "happy pills" but he started looking at us like we were in an aquarium, or he was in an aquarium, or he was anywhere but in the gondola going up the mountain...
Once we got to the top, he was just smiling because he finally made it to the top, or his "happy pill" fully kicked in...
I had heard how amazing it was atop Mt. Ulriken, but words just don't do it justice. It was one of the most beautiful views I have seen before, but HOLY HELL IT'S FREAKING FREEZING UP THERE! Especially if you are an a-hole with only one glove, that I forgot in the flat...so without further ado, I present a photo essay!
